FHNN ANNUAL REPORT

FHNN is celebrating its tenth year of service to seniors in Friendship Heights. Our mission is for neighbors to help neighbors to age at home and lead fulfilling lives.

We provide programs of a cultural and informative nature, and an array of activities, to all our members. Some are in-person in the buildings of Friendship Heights while others are on Zoom. FHNN believes, as do our members, that these programs and activities build connections in the community and combat social isolation. During the 12 months ending on June 30, 2025, we had over 370 events with an attendance of over 2,700.

For members who need services, most of whom no longer drive, our volunteers provide rides for medical and other appointments, tech help, and other supportive services including friendly visits. This volunteer assistance builds bonds that are meaningful to both parties. During the 12 months ending June 30, 2025, we had over 460 service requests and provided more than 520 hours of direct service to our full members.

What did it take to organize all this? Lots of administrative and management time which includes program planning and production, volunteer training, accounting, fundraising and much more - by volunteers serving as building representatives or Board members or in other roles.

We have important partnerships, especially those with Little Falls Village, Suburban Hospital and Montgomery County. Finally, I would like to express special gratitude to all of you - our members, volunteers, sponsors, donors and staff - for helping FHNN to expand and thrive.
